INGREDIENTS
2 cups of cooked wholemeal pasta (macaroni, spirals or penne)
250 grams (14 ounces) of minced (ground) turkey or chicken mince
2 teaspoons of olive oil
½ can of diced tomatoes with juice
1 teaspoon of peeled, crushed garlic
½ cup of full-fat mozzarella cheese, grated
½ cup of full-fat cottage cheese
A small pinch of pepper, to taste

METHOD
1. Bring plenty of water to the boil in a medium/large saucepan, add approximately 1 cup of dried macaroni and boil for 10-12 minutes until soft, turn off the heat, then drain. (This should give you 2 cups of cooked macaroni, but brands vary.)

2. Heat olive oil in a medium frying pan and cook the turkey (or chicken) for 7-8 minutes until lightly browned – stirring and breaking up lumps with a non-metal spoon.

3. Add the garlic and pepper to taste, and cook for 3-4 more minutes.

4. Off the heat, add the turkey (or chicken) mixture to the macaroni.

5. Add in the tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and cottage cheese and mix well.

6. For a puree, use a stick blender or food processor. For an older child, roughly chop some of the macaroni.

HANDY HINTS
For older babies who can handle solid foods, leave the dish as is without blending
